Man's fascination with the ocean has fueled myths about underwater cities, ancient sea monsters, and fish that still write in cursive. Catch one of these legends with this Groupon.
$37 for an All-Day Deep-Sea Fishing Trip for One (Up to $75 Value)On the regular day trip, anglers join a party of up to 100 passengers for nearly 7.5 hours of deep-sea fishing. Trips are typically scheduled between Monday and Saturday, launching at 8:45 a.m. for fishing until 4:10 p.m.
Pastime PrincessOnce a support vessel that transported oil-rig workers around the Gulf of Mexico, the 100-foot-long Pastime Princess now takes up to 100 anglers on deep-sea fishing trips between 11 and 23 miles off shore. Beyond transporting fishermen into these Atlantic waters, the Pastime Princess maintains guests' comfort with air conditioning, bathrooms cleaned daily, and a galley where chefs prepare a menu of grilled fare. The boat's crew supplies anglers of all skills levels with necessary gear, including bait, and furnishes passengers with fishing licenses. They also clean catches, which guests can tote home or have cooked at Dolphin View Seafood Restaurant upon returning to land. To enhance revelry aboard the boat, hands organize a winner-take-all jackpot for whoever catches the largest edible fish or still-useable mattress. An FAQ page anticipates common questions and lists some recommendations, such as advising anglers to arrive 45 minutes before departure and to bring coolers no larger than 20 inches.

Plantation-Style Comfort on the Florida Coast
With its dockside location in the "Sailfish Capital of the World," the Pirate's Cove Resort and Marina is an ideal launch point for anglers and boaters. "It's a great community of like-minded fishing and ocean oriented people," says Captain Otto Henry Jr., who skippers the charter boat Sunday in pursuit of mahi-mahi, sailfish, and wahoo. Almost everything about Pirate's Cove caters to the coastal lifestyle, from an onsite bait-and-tackle shop and fuel station to the upscale seafood restaurant that overlooks the marina.
Though fishing is king at the resort and marina, you don't have to be an angler to appreciate the resort's Old Florida charm. Each of the guest rooms features a veranda, plantation-style shutters, and wicker furniture. After the complimentary breakfast, you can while away the day by the pool until live music kicks off at the Pirate's Loft Restaurant and Tiki Pirate Bar. The chefs at this casual waterfront eatery incorporate fresh, local seafood into dishes such as tempura wasabi shrimp and Florida crab cakes.
Stuart, Florida: Historical City on the "Treasure Coast"Pirate's Cove overlooks Manatee Pocket, an Atlantic Ocean inlet in Stuart, about 40 miles north of Palm Beach. If the sun's out, consider taking a short drive over to Jensen or Bathtub Beach, both of which are typically uncrowded. You can catch dinner on one of the local deep-sea party boats or splurge on a charter trip for bigger game such as sailfish and kraken. Back on shore, there are a handful of nearby attractions worth a visit, including the House of Refuge Museum-housed within Martin County's oldest structure-and the silent-film-era Lyric Theatre, which puts on concerts and art-house features.

Organic vegetables are grown without the use of pesticides, as they naturally repel pests by threatening to spoil popular TV dramas that the bugs haven't caught up on. Show good taste with this Groupon.
$15 for $30 Worth of American CuisineEntrees include Bobby's famous Cajun-paneed chicken and shrimp served over penne pasta and covered in asaigo cream sauce and roasted tomatoes ($22.95), penne pasta a la vodka ($12.95), and five-spice BBQ crispy duck with orange-apricot deduction and vegetable risotto ($23.95). See the full dinner or lunch menus.
Frappes NorthBefore heading into his kitchen, chef and owner of Frappes North Bobby Frappier makes a detour at the restaurant's organic herb and tomato garden, harvesting ingredients for the day's menu. The armful of herbs and tomatoes make cameos in that evening's sauces, such as dill compound and thyme jus, as well as in the bottled pasta sauce sold at the restaurant.
In addition to its fresh cuisine, Frappes North has earned nods for its ambiance, which the New York Times calls "sophisticated [and] hip." Wine tastings, held on the first Tuesday of every month, bring oenophiles and the oeno-curious together for a sample of delightful vintages, paired with appetizers. Sunlight spills across the exposed dark wood beams that support the canted ceiling and tiled flooring that supports the live acoustic music on Friday nights.

Tropically decorated three-bedroom units are outfitted with eat-in kitchens, Internet access, washers and dryers, and cozy living rooms. Clubhouses situated nearby feature fitness centers, jacuzzis, pools, and saunas.
Florida Deluxe Villas also serves as an entertainment curator, with a concierge-manned welcome center open 24 hours a day. As a Disney-authorized independent retailer, the concierge can sell tickets to the theme parks as well as discounted admission to other area attractions and dinner shows. A shuttle service ($15-$50 for five people, depending on destination) ferries groups to their desired location, with possible stops including Disney World's four theme parks and two water parks.
Kissimmee, Florida: Easy Access to Walt Disney World and Major Orlando AttractionsThe town homes are scattered throughout Kissimmee, the city directly adjacent to Walt Disney World. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, visitors experience moviemaking magic on The Great Movie Ride and during shows such as Muppet Vision 3-D. On the Studio Backlot Tour, passengers embark on a 35-minute guided tour through a prop warehouse and experience a simulated disaster in Catastrophe Canyon. Nearby, Disney's Blizzard Beach water park resembles a frosty ski resort, with chair lifts that whisk you to the top of a freefalling water slide known as Summit Plummet. Kids slide down faux ice luges at Tike's Peak or race competitive snowmen with a face-first ride down the Toboggan Racers slide.
Outside of Disney World, the greater Orlando area is stuffed with other theme parks, including Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure, and SeaWorld. For a break from the crowds, take a drive up to the town of Winter Park for its Saturday farmers' market, designer boutiques, and scenic boat tours along Lake Osceola.

Spacious Rooms Overlooking St. Johns River
The St. Johns River-which neatly slices Jacksonville, Florida, down the middle-is one of the only rivers in America that flows north. Along its banks, the Jacksonville Landing has been attracting residents and visitors for more than 20 years with swanky shops, creative eateries, live-music clubs, and more than 300 special outdoor events held every year. The Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk occupies a prime spot directly across the river from the Landing and in the heart of the city's trendy San Marco entertainment district.
Each standard room in the hotel features contemporary and warm decor, with marigold-yellow walls and golden-hued linens. In the morning, you can head downstairs for a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast in the Wyndham's St. John's Cafe, then snooze peacefully in the sun while suspended in a hammock next to the outdoor pool.
Jacksonville, Florida: Sprawling City with Public Parks and Open SquaresLocated in northern Florida 25 miles from the Georgia state line, Jacksonville has the distinction of being the largest city, area-wise, in the United States. This doesn't translate to vast expanses of pavement and canyons of skyscrapers, however. More than 80,000 acres of parkland lie within the city limits, surrounding visitors with lush landscaping and squirrel networking opportunities. A particularly nice park is Tree Hill Nature Center. Located five minutes from downtown, this green space is crisscrossed with 50 acres of trails leading through shady forests.
The neighborhood where the Wyndham is located, San Marco, is one of Jacksonville's oldest. Noted for its 1920s-era Mediterranean Revival homes-featuring balconies, terra-cotta tile roofs, and elaborate carvings-the area rewards sightseers with interesting architecture around every turn. As the sun goes down, head over to the San Marco Square, an open piazza surrounded by upscale restaurants and an old-fashioned movie theater.

Beachfront Hotel with Private Pool Deck
Since its original construction in 1888, Plaza Resort & Spa has transformed from a stagecoach stop to an early aviation exhibition site to a barracks for the Women's Army Corps during WWII. Fires and inclement weather have destroyed the hotel over the years, yet it always seems to emerge stronger than before, and a multimillion-dollar restoration has brought about its most luxurious incarnation yet. Located steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, the Plaza Resort now features a 15,000-square-foot European-style spa and a sprawling oceanfront pool deck.
Though much of the Daytona shoreline is open to auto traffic, the beach alongside the hotel is car-free and comparatively quieter. From the private balcony connected to your ocean-view room, you can watch the sunrise over the Atlantic or wait until a more reasonable hour and re-create the sunrise with a flashlight. Head downstairs to the hotel's Ocean Waters Spa for any number of restorative services, including the popular green-coffee slimming body wrap, a 55-minute treatment designed to smooth cellulite and increase metabolism. The beach is just a few feet from the hotel, but for a more private experience, kick back in one of the lounge chairs by the pool.
Daytona Beach: Auto-Race Mecca and Historical Boardwalk CitySeven miles from the Plaza Resort & Spa, the intoxicating scent of engine fuel and burnt rubber beckons from Daytona International Speedway. During 30-minute guided tram tours, you can stroll the infield and traverse the pit road while Mustang and Monte Carlo experts narrate the history of motorsports. For a more intimate experience, you can accompany a professional driver for three laps in a standard stock car or attempt a 16-second pit-stop challenge in a professional racecar.
Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, one of the tallest masonry lighthouses in the country, stands guard about 10 miles south of the hotel on Ponce Inlet. Built in the 1880s, the 175-foot granite structure and its surrounding Victorian brick buildings feature exhibits lined with old lighthouse lenses and various historical artifacts. You can climb the 203 steps to the top of the tower for panoramic views of the beach and an inexplicable performance of "Eye of the Tiger."

Private Beach Bungalows on Island Off Florida Coast
When Beach'n Place owner Rhonda Wyatt first came to Fort Myers Beach on business in 1994, she decided she had found paradise. The town is set on the 6-mile-long Estero Island, located just off Florida's mainland on the gulf side. Because the strip of land is no wider than a block in most parts, the beach is never more than a short walk away. Thought Wyatt was instantly taken with the sunny locale, it wasn't until 2004 that she made her dream a reality by purchasing the Island Hideaway resort, which includes the fully renovated Beach'n Place bungalows.
Set just a five-minute walk from the shore, Beach'n Place is comprised of seven cozy cottages. Each one-bedroom unit features a full kitchen stocked with appliances, dishes, and utensils. You can venture to nearby restaurants for dinner or stay close to home and have a cookout at one of the courtyard's barbecue grills.
The beach package included with this Getaway supplies everything you'll need for a day on the sand-towels, chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, and all the necessary sandcastle zoning permits. With a two-hour bike rental for two, also included, you can circumnavigate the entire island and explore the area at your own pace.
Fort Myers Beach, FL: Barrier Island Town with Wide, Sandy BeachesTwo bridges connect Estero Island to Florida's mainland, but you may find yourself opting to stay put. One of the biggest draws at Fort Myers Beach is its wide, sandy coastline, which is fronted by a boardwalk with tourist shops and restaurants. A popular way to take in the scenery is to board a kayak and paddle your way through Estero Bay's inlets to glimpse mangroves and dolphins.
At the southern tip of the island, Lovers Key State Park was historically accessible only via boat, but today you can also get there by car or tram. Keep your eyes peeled for the abundant wildlife in the region, home to West Indian manatees, marsh rabbits, and bald eagles.

Historical Mansion on Banks of St. Johns River
In 1922, the heir to the Palmolive soap fortune built a lavish winter mansion on the banks of the St. Johns River in Orange Park, Florida. The Italianate home-named Mira Rio at the time-was set amid vast expanses of lawn dotted with 300-year-old oaks and carefully manicured gardens. In 1966, the estate was renamed The Club Continental and turned into a private club and hotel outfitted with tennis courts, three outdoor pools, and 22 guest rooms.
Each of the king or two-room River suites is decorated differently, but all rooms have a private balcony overlooking the river. In the spacious River suite 304, there's a living room with a fireplace and a mini kitchen set off to one side. The marble-counter bathroom is huge, with a large jacuzzi soaking tub and a painted mural of river scenes on the wall. Elsewhere in the suite, oriental rugs cover the floor, and a painting of old Florida hangs over the mantel. The historic manse does not have elevators, but handicap-accessible rooms are available upon request.
At the onsite waterfront restaurant, known simply as The Club Restaurant, chefs whip up dishes such as grilled salmon with a Grand Marnier sauce and Kobe brisket braised in soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. You can stroll the grounds after dinner, ambling past trees romantically draped with spanish moss.
Greater Jacksonville, Florida: Lush Gardens and 17th-Century FortressesThe little town of Orange Park is set along the St. Johns River in northeastern Florida. Early residents hoped to grow citrus fruit on the land-hence the name Orange Park. The Great Freeze of 1894-95 put an end to that dream, and eventually the town became a suburb of Jacksonville. But though you may not be able to look out on orange groves from your room at The Club Continental, you can still visit The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, located about 15 miles from hotel. The facility's 100-year-old gardens showcase ancient oak trees, rare plants, and antique sculptures. There are also serene reflecting pools and an elaborate, azalea-filled Italian Garden.
Orange Park is a 40-minute drive from historic St. Augustine, where several 17th-century Spanish forts, including the Castillo de San Marcos, stand guard over America's oldest port. Close by, Anastasia State Park, which encompasses 4 miles of white-sand beaches, is a daytrip-worthy stop on St. Augustine's Atlantic coast.
