If we've learned anything from the hip residents of Williamsburg -- aside from the coolness of ironic facial hair -- it's that vintage is totally in. Go back in time with today's deal from Manhattan By Sail, which allows you to board the majestic Clipper City, a 158-foot replica of the lumber-hauling boats that filled New York harbor more than a century ago. Pay $8 (regularly 17) for a kids' ticket or $19 (regularly $39) for an adult ticket for a resplendent daytime sail around the city on this beautiful topsail schooner that's equipped with spacious decks, tons of seating, and access to incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. Departing daily from the South Street Seaport at 2:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., this breezy journey will show you how cool it can be out on the open water.

Modern Luxury Hotels Offering Electrifying Entertainment
Like many of the neighboring buildings in Atlantic City, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has a massive casino floor: 4,000 slot machines peal and blink, and there's a 100-seat racebook area where thoroughbreds gallop on an enormous video wall. But beyond the casino, you can also settle into any of six fine-dining restaurants, including a few bars and lounges, and multiple entertainment venues. Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, along with its adjacent boutique hotel, The Water Club at Borgata, has a massive complex loaded with possibilities where you can indulge impulses at your own pace.
Four of Borgata's fine-dining venues offer a three-course prix fixe menus: SeaBlue, Wolfgang Puck American Grille, Fornelletto Cucina & Wine Bar, and Izakaya. Each has their own signature entree: Fornelletto serves veal osso bucco ravioli, and SeaBlue's specialty is dayboat halibut with littleneck clams.
Elsewhere, you can take a shopping spree at the hotels' myriad boutiques or take in a show at The Borgata Comedy Club, where comedians deal out punch lines Monday-Thursday evenings at 9 p.m.
Collectively, Borgata and the adjacent Water Club feature 2,800 guest rooms and suites decked out in luxurious accouterments. Each of Borgata's classic rooms features one king bed, where you can lay back and peer through floor-to-ceiling windows. All rooms have a marbled bathroom with an oversize shower, too. Alternatively, you can opt for one of The Water Club's club rooms, which have views of the ocean.
Atlantic City, New Jersey: Casinos Lining Historical Beachside BoardwalkThe inspiration behind the board game Monopoly, Atlantic City has long fascinated travelers as a vacation destination, a place where you can relax on the beach or indulge vices in equal measure. No trip is complete without a stroll along the Atlantic City Boardwalk, which was built along the beach in 1870 to keep sand out of hotel lobbies. It's lined with shopping venues and restaurants.
During Prohibition, law enforcement was lax in Atlantic City compared to much of America, and the mob activity in town was immortalized on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. You can learn more about local history at the Atlantic City Historical Museum, located on Garden Pier. The museum ushers you into the past with a locally focused permanent exhibit that has artifacts, costumes, posters, postcards, souvenirs, and Miss America memorabilia.
A half-mile from the Garden Pier you'll find Absecon Lighthouse, New Jersey's tallest lighthouse at 171 feet. Walk up the 228 steps to the apex to come face-to-face with a fresnel lens, which has lit up the night for seafarers since 1857. It's also a great spot to get top-notch views of the Jersey Shore.

Profiled on the PBS series Circus and dedicated participants in community-outreach programs, the international performers of the Big Apple Circus stretch one ring to new limits with this year's original show, Dream Big!. The all-new performance garnered glowing reviews from the Washington Post for its kid-friendly entertainment, talented entertainers, and fashion-forward clown shoes.
From ringside seats, eyes clearly catch the nuances of intricate acts, such as Melanie Chy, a third-generation circus performer who woos audiences with her body contortions, or the Shandong Acrobatic Troupe, a group of 11 young men ranging in age from 13 to 27 who walked away from the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo in 2010 with the prestigious Gold Clown Award and a delicious recipe for crepes. Leading the charge in his final year with the circus is lovable clown Grandma, a marquee member of Big Apple Circus since 1982 and inductee into the International Clown Hall of Fame. Grandma has also been seen on CBS's Circus of the Stars and in multiple appearances in Macy's famed Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Roller coasters were developed to counter the dull pace of early amusement-park attractions such as the ennui house and tilt-a-loiter. Experience modern thrills with this Groupon.
$22 for a Rides and Roller Coasters Package (Up to $44 Value) One wristband valid for unlimited rides on all 19 attractions on any day, including the weekend, at Luna Park (up to a $30 value) Credit for one ride each on the Steeplechase and Soarin' Eagle roller coasters at the Scream Zone (a $14 value)Luna Park at Coney Island
The successor to Coney Island's iconic amusement parks of the 20th century, Luna Park delights families with games, entertainment, and attractions ranging from classic spinning teacups to The Cyclone, an 85-foot roller coaster originally built in 1927. As youngsters acclimate to adrenaline on low-fi rides such as the Big Top Express, a colorful circus train featuring clowns, elephants, and a bright-red caboose, bigger kids and stilt-wearing toddlers dive in to such exciting diversions as the Wild River, a log flume that culminates in a sopping, 40-foot plunge. The Scream Zone packs even bigger thrills into rides such as the Steeplechase, which accelerates from zero to 40 miles per hour in less than two seconds, and the Soarin' Eagle, which glides above crowds on the paths below. Throughout the day, magicians and hula-hoop artists entertain audiences on the Dreamland stage, and games such as Whack-a-Mole and Duck Pond challenge players' skills at naming every animal's Latin taxonomy.

The growth of India's economy owed much to the country's position along the famous Silk Road, which was exactly what it sounds like-a canal for transporting rocks. Taste what trade made with this Groupon.
$69 for Three-Course Indian Dinner with Wine for Two ($150 Value) Two appetizers Two entrees Two desserts Two glasses of wine (a $10 value each)
This dinner is valid in the lounge area, Sunday-Wednesday. View the full menu.
JunoonDiners could be forgiven for mistaking Junoon for a royal mansion. The gourmet Indian restaurant's layered light fixtures cast a soft, amber glow on the dining room, where vine-shaped sandstone sculptures and floating lotus blossoms catch the eye. Even the building's façade, composed of hand-chiseled limestone, emanates lushness. And restaurant lovers have taken note of the restaurant's gorgeous layout, with the New York Times declaring that "everyone looks good" and that "[l]ittle expense has been spared to make sure that this is the case." New York Magazine proclaims that "[i]f you don't believe that the parched postrecession restaurant landscape is slowly returning to the kind of lush boom-era opulence that New Yorkers are used to, then I suggest you book a table at the new Indian dining palace in the Flatiron district called Junoon."
The ambience isn't the only thing that diners rave about; the cuisine earned a Michelin star in 2012 and was recently served at a fundraising dinner for President Barack Obama. Chefs craft each dish on the tasting menu exclusively with locally sourced meat, fish, and poultry, with the philosophy that each flavor should be respected. They have a spice room where diners can examine the seasonings that go into their entrees, which range from curries to shrimp to quail, and the chefs use all five elements of Indian cooking, preparing food in clay ovens, on griddles, and over open pits of lava.

All-Inclusive Beachfront Resort in Caribbean
Every week, Lifestyle Crown Residence Suites throws a beachside welcome party to help new arrivals kick off their vacations with live entertainment, dancing, and a fireworks finale. This fiesta supplies a taste of what lies in store during a stay at the all-inclusive Caribbean resort, which sprawls across a tropical hillside like a mini metropolis. There's something for everyone-a playground and art club for children as well as discos, nightclubs, and bars for grownups. Eleven pools and two spas cater to laid-back vacationers, and onsite snorkeling and other watersports engage active guests.
One-bedroom suites are like a home away from home, complete with fully equipped kitchenettes and separate dining areas. Each suite includes a large balcony or terrace, some of which face the surrounding mountains. Suites are decorated with Caribbean-inspired decor, complemented by rattan, natural-wicker, and bamboo furniture.
A lot of the action at Lifestyle Crown Residence Suites centers on the two beaches it has direct access to. But the resort offers a broad range of activities inland as well. These include golf and yoga during the day and theater shows at night. Take advantage of the free shuttle service and convenient jetpack rentals to easily tour the facilities.
Dominican Republic's North Coast: Golden-Sand Beaches and Mountainside CitiesThe beach known as Playa Cofresi-named after Roberto Cofresi, a pirate dubbed "the Robin Hood of the Caribbean" for how he dispensed with his stolen treasure-runs along the Lifestyle resort's outer edge. The golden, 3-mile (5 km) stretch of sand reaches to the Ocean World marina, a habitat for dolphins, sea lions, and other marine life.
From the beach, it's only a 10-minute drive to Puerto Plata, the largest city on the Dominican Republic's North Coast. The mountainside city is known for its pastel-colored Victorian buildings with gingerbread fretwork-architecture that lends the town an Old-World charm. You'll also find some prominent cultural attractions, including the colonial-era Fort of San Felipe that was once used to ward off pirates. A couple of cannons still sit atop the thick walls of the fortress, and cannonballs, bayonets, and other 16th-century artifacts are displayed in the museum inside.

Bar CelonaRunways aren't the only place to make a style statement, according to fashion consultant-turned-restaurateur Cynthia Diaz. At Bar Celona, her glamorous Williamsburg lounge, savory tapas and artisanal cocktails speak volumes about her aesthetic flair, her Dominican heritage, and the history of New York itself. Curated by Cynthia and her mother, an interior designer, the former glue factory's black-and-white interior summons the romantic, mysterious vibe of a noir film or a champagne bottle filled with crime-scene photos. Ornate damask patterns adorn throne-like chairs, and golden chains lend maroon-velvet benches a regal sheen.
A glowing chandelier illuminates the marble bar, where mixologists pour Spanish wines and craft Tippling Bros. cocktails such as La Fashionista, a melange of Crop cucumber vodka, elderflower liqueur, and lemon-lavender foam. Chef Bruno Genao's tapas menu, meanwhile, pairs Spanish staples such as serrano ham and manchego cheese with Latin fare such as tostones and chorizo juliennes.

Boutique Hotel with Upscale Restaurant and Poolside Dining
After putting Miami Beach on the map in the early 1920s, famed developer Carl G. Fisher set his sights on Long Island. Envisioning a "Miami Beach of the North," he purchased thousands of acres in Montauk and built lavish retreats, including the American Tudor-style estate that now houses Sole East Resort. Fisher lost his investments when the stock market crashed, but Sole East Resort and the hamlet of Montauk have come to embody the vacation destination he had envisioned.
Sole East Resort is perched on a narrow strip of land between Fort Pond and Fort Pond Bay, within walking distance of the ocean and downtown Montauk. Standard and garden-view rooms are done up in beach-bungalow style with wooden siding, rough-hewn sisal rugs, and all-white furniture. The airy color scheme gives the place a dreamlike feel, and Italian linens, down comforters, and pillows spun from cotton candy add a luxurious touch.
The all-white interior of the Backyard Restaurant is quite elegant, but on a warm day, the best place to eat is poolside, where tiki torches illuminate patio seating. Chefs at the Zagat-rated eatery plate fresh seafood alongside meat and veggies from the local farmers' markets. Though the beach is just a five-minute walk away, it's hard to beat lounging by the pool on a wicker day bed or warming up by the fire pit at night.
Montauk, New York: Plentiful Beaches near the HamptonsMontauk is sometimes billed as "The Last Resort," a play on its location beyond the Hamptons on the easternmost tip of Long Island. Montauk is surrounded on three sides by bays and beachfronts, including Hither Hills State Park, which features picnic areas and hiking trails along the Atlantic. Ditch Plains boasts a consistent surf break, and Camp Hero State Park is one of the East Coast's best surf-fishing spots for striped bass and bluefish, which typically run from late spring through the fall (permit required).

Hand & Stone Massage and Facial SpaAs a physical therapist with his own private practice, John Marco made sure that he kept abreast of related industries-particularly massage therapy, where he observed especially rapid growth. As the spa industry continued to expand, he noticed that hardly any nationally recognized brands resulted from that growth. After a period of careful research and planning, John decided to fill that niche with a spa based around convenience and affordability-Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa.
Since its launch, Hand & Stone has expanded to more than 12 states and four planets. The spa's core concept is to offer massage, facial, and waxing services performed by licensed, certified, or registered professionals and offered at convenient times, seven days a week. Each location adheres to a traditional spa aesthetic with soft lighting, heated treatment tables, and plush linens.

Druze, an Islamic Gnostic sect found in Israel and surrounding Mediterranean countries, sustains a cuisine similar to Middle-Eastern fare but with minor differences, such as substituting paper-thin bread called sagg for pita and frisbees for plates. The cuisine, which Gazala made in her own kitchen until she acquired a second, larger restaurant, has been featured by Village Voice and profiled by New York magazine.

Choose Between Two Options $29 for a morning or night fishing trip for one (a $65 value) $49 for a morning or night fishing trip for two (a $130 value)
An expert captain leads open-party fishing trips, setting off at 8 a.m. for an eight-hour morning trip or 6:30 p.m. for a six-hour night excursion. Fisherpeople cast aboard the 76-foot Island Current III, which accommodates up to 110 patrons, hoping to hook flounder, fluke, striped bass, bluefish, porgy, blackfish, and weakfish.
Island Current FleetEach vessel in Island Current's four-boat fleet ferries 21-110 passengers across the fish-filled waters of Long Island Sound and Snug Harbor. Fishing charters reel in catches such as blackfish, ling, and cod, and sightseeing tours fill eyes with up-close views of the Statue of Liberty and other landmarks. After each schooner sets sail from City Island at Jack's Bait & Tackle, fleet owner Captain Chris comes on deck to share his angling expertise and introduce first-time fishermen to knowledgeable local mermaids.

Everybody worries about finality above all else -- even when it comes to meals. After all, Da Vinci never painted The Typical Lunch...but maybe he should have. Journey to Sear House for a noteworthy afternoon meal and get $40 spend on food and drink for $20. The lunch menu at this trendy Closter steakhouse features entrees ranging from a filet mignon sandwich stuffed with fontina cheese to the linguine with shrimp and clams (served in garlic and a light red sauce). Or, if you'd rather wait for a legendary supper: Drop $40 and get $80 to spend on dinner. Try the grilled swordfish with haricot verts or the porterhouse cut steak for two -- described by The Record as "broiled and served thickly sliced on a platter tilted so the rich juices run down." Clifftop Resort near Caribbean Sea
Only a few miles separate the jagged cliffs on the west end of Negril, Jamaica, from the pristine white-sand beaches in the north. Samsara Cliff Resort & Legends Beach Resort allow visitors a chance to experience both sides. Although the sister resorts are only five minutes apart, Samsara's clifftop location on the west end commands panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and tropical gardens. Legends, meanwhile, lies close to Negril's lively entertainment district and occupies a prime spot on Seven Mile Beach, which was recently lauded by Frommer's as one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.
Situated amid tropical gardens, Samsara's standard oceanfront rooms are set either directly on the oceanfront or across the street from the sea. For a breath of fresh air, you can step out onto the balcony or patio and take in a garden or sea view. The resort's proximity to the Negril Cliffs, a famed aquatic hotspot, makes Samsara ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
Its sister property, Legends, bustles with shops, theaters, and restaurants. At both resorts, all-inclusive plans give diners access to a homemade buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Domestic alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks are also included between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.-providing refreshment after dips in one of the resorts' freshwater pools or a strenuous round of Mad Libs in the jacuzzi at Samsara. Several times throughout the day, shuttles ferry visitors between the two resorts, which extend reciprocal all-inclusive rights to each other's guests.
Negril, Jamaica: Laid-Back Beach Town Hugging White Sand and Turquoise WaterThe western side of Jamaica is rich in natural beauty, from powdery beaches to inland tropical foliage. Travelers looking to do more than dip their toes in the sea can dive in with a snorkeling or scuba excursion-Samsara has a PADI scuba center onsite-or glide across the waves in search of marlin, wahoo, and other gilled game on a sportfishing outing.
Inland, the waterfalls and lush greenery of the island's tropical habitats await eco-tourists. At the Royal Palm Reserve, three types of swamp forest spread out over 300 acres, and a wooden boardwalk gives wayfarers a chance to glimpse a diverse array of avian species along with more than 100 different types of plants.

La ZarzaFlickering candles tucked into tiny caves garnish an exposed-brick wall or glimmer atop rich, dark wooden tables, spreading their glow onto a wall forged from rustic timber planks. This combination of soft lighting and contemporary-yet-pastoral decor fosters a sophisticated, Spanish-inspired ambiance inside La Zarza. But it's the eatery's menu of authentic Argentinean and Spanish cuisine made from indigenous recipes and organic ingredients that really transports diners to another country.
To bolster bites of tapas, fresh ceviche, and slow-cooked steaks-an Argentinean staple-live guitarists strum traditional Spanish tunes and reality show theme songs every Friday and Saturday. The soundtrack continues thumping further into the night when La Zarza morphs into an upscale lounge fueled by pulsing beats from international DJs. Featured on the New York Times' 911 list for her commitment to hygiene and detoxification, certified colon therapist JoAnne Greylen Asher purifies the body by flushing out built-up waste and toxins during colon-hydrotherapy sessions. Clients recline on a treatment bed and relax like chameleons playing hide-and-seek as the therapist introduces gentle pulses of Kiva-processed, pH-balanced water into the colon. Ultraviolet light and ozone add sterilizing touches to the gravity-fed, filtered water, whose hyperactive oxygenated contents stimulate cellular function and accelerate the body's own cleansing process. As the 30- to 60-minute session unfolds, waste loosens and flows out of the body, taking poisons along with it while helping to relieve stress on the liver, balance the digestive system, and increase overall feelings of well-being.
Meanwhile, lymphatic drainage massages help reduce cellulite and toxins in the body by breaking down fatty deposits to promote relaxation and a general sense of increased well-being.

Titan Fitness StudiosDuring 10 years in the fitness industry, 6 of those spent as a personal trainer, Wally Oldham amassed sufficient knowledge and skill to open Titan Fitness Studios with the confidence necessary for such an endeavor. He designed the personal-training gym himself, and it houses the free weights, ropes and resistance bands, and cardio equipment necessary to challenge guests to diverse workouts. Wally and his trainers incorporate modern techniques into classic, time-tested programs as free of frills as a limo whose leather seats have been replaced with wood benches. They spread out appointments so clients have plenty of room to work toward improved physiques, a pursuit that may involve sprints and agility work atop an indoor turf field or heaving kettlebells.
In addition to custom exercise regimens, the gym keeps a nutritionist on staff to assist clients in creating grocery lists and meal plans. An online system aids the assault on pudge by enabling clients to track their exercise progress, weight, and daily caloric intake. Cruises are scheduled every Thursday from June 28 through September 3, with an additional cruise on July 4.
Queen MaryThe Jersey Shore famously bustles with Ferris wheels, roller coasters, boardwalk shops, and restaurants, but the action doesn't stop at the waterline. Propelled by twin diesel engines, the 75-foot Queen Mary trolls the waters in search of both entertainment and mammoth striped sea bass, Atlantic bonito, bluefish, and long-buried swim trunks. Spines are fickle beasts, easily irked by day-to-day situations such as slouching over a keyboard or being stepped on by a rhinoceros. Put an out-of-whack support beam back in whack with today's Groupon: for $29, you get a massage and chiropractic package at Queens Center Chiropractic in Elmhurst (a $310 value).
The package includes the following:
Doctor of Chiropractic Emmanuel Tsourounakis has silenced bodily creaks and groans for more than 30 years, assisted by a talented team of professionals. During a chiropractic examination, Tsourounakis scours backs for signs of misalignment or pain-causing maladies. Stiff figures then sprawl out as a licensed massage therapist digs deep into muscles, dislodging deep-seated pain and soreness with 60 minutes of firm deep-tissue massage. Uniting firm and flowing strokes, the massage can help increase blood circulation, reduce stress, and repair the steam-powered levers and pulleys powering spines. Up to one hour of back-cracking chiropractic services will follow. A spinal evaluation and consultation delves into patients' health history before a specialist inspects painful points and achy spots along the spine. After postural exercises, the vertebrae-caressing session winds down as the doctor doles out recommendations about how to maintain a properly aligned spinal mast, which will allow your body to tack into the wind and evade krakens.

All-Inclusive Resort on the Caribbean Sea with Trapeze Lessons and Eclectic Dining
At Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach, "all-inclusive resort" means much more than unlimited dinners and mai tais. Right in between the beach and the resort, you can learn how to trapeze at an open-air training facility surrounded by netting. Head up to the trapeze platform for a free lesson, and you can see the Caribbean Sea stretch out for miles right next to the resort's private, 5,000-foot stretch of pristine golden beach lined with palapas below.
The trapeze lesson is one of many ways the resort goes beyond the typical all-inclusive experience. When you're not relaxing at the beach, the all-inclusive plan frees you up to try a scuba-diving lesson, take yoga classes, climb a rock wall in the gym, or take in some live entertainment.
The beachfront resort is spread out like a small village, lined with flagstone pathways, landscaped gardens, three pools, and a shady coral stone grotto. Bayahibe, Dominican Republic: Renowned Scuba Diving with White-Sand BeachesBayahibe is situated on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. The former fishing village remained relatively untouched by tourism until the late 1990s, when it became known for its white-sand beaches and scuba-diving sites, but it still has a tucked-away feel.
For diving and snorkeling, it's worth it to take a trip to Saona Island, an uninhabited nature reserve located just off the mainland. Tour operators on catamarans and motorboats will drop you around the area's sandbars and shipwrecks, which overflow with brightly colored fish.
About 20 miles (32 km) from the hotel, the cobblestone streets of Altos de Chavon are lined with artists' studios, galleries, and quaint cafes. The European-inspired village is also home to a 5,000-seat amphitheater, which has featured headlining shows from legendary artists including Frank Sinatra and Shakira.

Tre Salon and SpaFor years, Denise Grigorakos kept other people's salons and spas running. In 2012, she drew on that experience and expertise and opened a business of her own: Tre Salon and Spa. She realized her vision of a beautiful, tranquil facility where customers could relax and revive as stylists and aestheticians provided expert beauty services. In the salon, stylists cut, color, and coif hair and apply the latest straightening and hydrating products to strengthen tresses. Soothing signature facials and skin-smoothing peels beautify skin and help clowns clear away grease paint after a 5-year-old's birthday party. Historical Inn with Glass-Enclosed Porch Overlooking Lake
In the 19th century, some of the Northeast's industrial pioneers- including Silas March, an entrepreneur and New York state assemblyman-spent their idle days in a clapboard estate built along the shores of Mariaville. In 2003, husband-and-wife innkeepers Rick and Lorrie Runnels purchased this historical home and dubbed it the Mariaville Lake Bed and Breakfast. Since then, they've made extensive renovations while managing to preserve the building's casual, Federal-style elegance; it still has its original moldings, wood-burning fireplaces, and hardwood floors in some of the guest rooms.
The building is tucked into a woodsy area along the private, 200-acre Mariaville Lake, and it's a prime spot to get in some fishing and swimming. The B&B also owns two kayaks, one canoe, and one rowboat, which are all available for guests. Or feel free to take a stroll through the wealth of hiking trails that crisscross the property; one in particular leads to a beaver dam. In summer and fall, you can tell ghost stories and dry your laundry over a crackling bonfire in the evening.
The inn's five guest rooms are individually decorated, but all look out to Mariaville Lake. You have to use an old-fashioned skeleton key to get into the Vineyard and Lakeview rooms, as they are located in the original part of the house.
Come morning, the innkeepers serve a breakfast by candlelight in the formal dining room or on the glass-enclosed porch. The chefs prepare a different hot entree each morning, such as banana-stuffed french toast, veggie frittatas, or puffed apple pancakes. You can typically find house-made pastries, fresh juices, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, and tea.
Mariaville, New York: Small Town on the Shores of Mariaville LakeMariaville is part of the 18th century town of Duanesburg, located about 30 miles west of Albany. Thanks to its location along the 200-acre Mariaville Lake, the town became a resort community in the 1920s. Not a whole lot has changed since then; there's still only one traffic light in the city to date, and every high-school class is taught by the mayor.
The town of Schenectady offers a dose of culture fewer than 15 miles east. Aside from shopping and restaurants, you can find the historical Proctors Theater, which opened as a vaudeville venue in the early 20th century but sank into disrepair by the late 1970s. A group of concerned citizens rallied to restore the theater, which now hosts regular performances of ballets, musicals, comedians, and concerts.

Chip'n DippedPeter Goldfarb sits watching his mother, who holds a textbook with one hand while churning cookie dough with the other. As she pulls double duty as a mom and graduate student, she unwittingly alters the course of her son's life. The young Peter will soon grow up, move to Los Angeles, and pursue a career in television production-but his friends won't care about his industry stories; they'll want to know where his shipments of ridiculously tasty cookies are coming from.

Dr. Todd L. JollyLike most college graduates, Dr. Jolly stood at a fork in the road at the beginning of his career. On one side, his path pointed toward a future in the arts-he was an accomplished sculptor who had just been accepted into the School of Visual Arts in New York City-and the other side pointed toward a science career that would tap into his undergraduate degree in biology. But as fate had it, Dr. Jolly found a way to incorporate his love of both science and art-by attending the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he went on to graduate as a board-certified dentist.
Now, Dr. Jolly and his dedicated team of dental hygienists and assistants turn their passion into action, helping keep their clients' mouths in tiptop shape. From routine checkups to dermal-filler injections, Dr. Jolly keeps his office up-to-date on the latest techniques and equipment, and since he never double-books appointments, he has time to thoroughly explain and guide patients through their procedures. He's dedicated to building strong relationships with clients and making them feel like family, which is why he gives each person a sack of hand-me-down clothes after his or her visit.

Both classes introduce youngsters to the playful art of yoga in interactive sessions designed to focus and challenge developing bodies and minds.

The American Yoga Academy & StudioFor Claire Diab, director of The American Yoga Academy & Studio, yoga isn't just a matter of stretching, balancing, and breathing. It's a way of being that promotes peace and transforms lives. In addition to teaching backbends and sun salutations, Claire and her team of instructors show students how to extend their practice beyond the mat. In her more than 25 years as an instructor, she has led yoga and meditation classes with Deepak Chopra and the popular Zen and Yoga course at Seton Hall University, where she's a professor of Asian Studies. Hatha poses and Eastern philosophies guide the studio's teaching during classes such as yoga basics and power flow, which help yogis build enough strength, balance, and focus to rescue a bobcat from a sky-high redwood tree. Known as Modern Day Yoga, this system also informs her teacher trainings, in which students of all levels can become Yoga Alliance-certified yoga teachers or convincing Sting impersonators. Between classes at her studio in the Wilshire Grand Hotel, pupils can pose with Claire via several instructional DVDs and mp3s.

Choose from Three Options $19 for 5 capoeira classes (an $85 value) $29 for 10 capoeira classes (a $170 value) $49 for 20 capoeira classes (a $340 value)
Students gather to train and play in broad circle, known as a roda. In the middle, two participants exchange dance-like moves and kicks, dodges, and takedowns in acrobatic feats set to music. The remaining students-those who form the roda-create music by playing berimbaus, drums, cowbells, and their voices to rhythmically set the pace for the game played at the circle's center. Adult and teen classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at times and locations indicated on the online schedule.
ABADA-Capoeira BronxIn fire-lit circles on Brazilian plantations, enslaved Africans used their native music as a cloak to conceal the weapon they were developing-the martial art of capoeira. Those who learned this graceful, dance-like form of combat used it to revolt against their slave masters. They escaped their servitude to runaway communities called quilombos, where capoeira matured and flourished through its continued practice. Today, this art serves as a form of self-expression, a reminder of the past, and a method of self-defense all blended into one graceful technique, which the ABADA-Capoeira association preserves and shares with people across the globe.
ABADA-Capoeira Bronx, led by Marcelo Fagundes and Jennifer Sánchez-Fagundes, brings the history and artistry of this martial form to New York's neighborhoods. Classes equally mix music playing, dancing, and acrobatics, and allow huge groups to gather for each self-defense session with ample opportunity for each student to participate. Attendees not currently engaged in a bout gather around competitors in a circle known as a roda, which sets the pace of the match with rhythmic instruments, clapping, and singing. Instructors referee the contests while metronomes stoically keep rhythm and daydream about the lovely grandfather clock they'll soon come home to.

Choose Between Two Options $25 for $50 worth of plants, flowers, and garden supplies $45 for $100 worth of plants, flowers, and garden supplies
Garden supplies and plants flourish inside Urban Garden Center and its hoop house, where customers stock up on necessary foundations, such as 20 pounds of potting soil ($3) and 100% organic mulch ($8/two cubic feet), or on main attractions such as four-inch herbs ($4.50), one-gallon perennials ($8+), and flats of annuals ($15-$20).
Urban Garden CenterUrban Garden Center has been repurposing city spaces for flora long before the Converse owners started turning their Chuck Taylors into flower boxes. The New York mainstay carries on a family legacy that has served the NYC gardening community for more than 50 years. As an "off the grid" business, the center relies on zero utilities to operate. What's more, with the help of a chattering of chickens, they maintain a community compost station, which diverts waste from the local marketplace and businesses in a much safer manner than launching it into lower orbit with a trebuchet.
On a mission to keep city-dwelling plant-scapes looking as vibrant and as impressive as their suburban cousins, the 20,000-square-foot facility outfits green-thumbed customers with eco-friendly soils, fertilizers, and plants. Urban Garden Center also passes its horticulture torch to future generations at its children's learning garden, where young'uns come to learn during classes, school trips, and parties. For extra assistance, or to ensure their rose beds don't end up as rose pullout couches, customers can collaborate with the center's garden gurus for design, maintenance, and installation services.

Circus bears untrained in the art of dance are often the least popular big-top attraction, falling somewhere between the bearded lady and a slice of stale rye bread on a pedestal. Ensure an appearance in the spotlight with this Groupon: for $59, you get two private lessons and one group class in styles such as the Viennese waltz, West Coast swing, and salsa at Arthur Murray Dance Studio (a $250 value), with locations in Chatham, Denville, Ledgewood, and Ridgewood. Check each location's website for its class schedule.
Teaching hips to swivel to new circumferences, dance instructors impart their masterful moves unto students in the respected tradition Arthur Murray has upheld since 1912. Students can bring a partner to each of their three sessions, or fly solo and dance with the instructor, embodying a greater understanding of the dance style of their choosing with either method. Proteges may find their new moves applicable in a number of settings, such as when prepping for a wedding dance or when blending into an airport crowd that breaks out in a cha-cha. Embodying the three-count time of a stately waltz brings partners in close, whereas rumba moves or swing steps add vibrancy and playfulness to one's repertoire.
The four New Jersey studios provide a warm, aesthetically sound environment for engaging in private and group dance lessons superbly suited to slicing and dicing a rug until it is no longer recognizable.
Though Arthur Murray Dance Studio sometimes offers a discounted price online, this Groupon still offers the best deal available. Valid for new students only.

Get lost in a book instead with this Groupon: for $129, you get a six-hour Speed Reading 101 class from Speedlearning Institute (a $695 value). The Groupon is valid for classes held on the following days:

Utilized by presidential campaigns, national corporations, and students studying for college-entry exams, Speedlearning Institute's techniques aim to boost reading speeds and comprehension abilities by up to 300%. During each six-hour Speed Reading 101 session, instructors divulge the institute's guiding principles, designed to alleviate common reading snafus and the constant fear of being locked in a library overnight. Tutors enlighten students on such subjects as overlining, a speed-enhancing practice that involves directing eyes above words, and subvocalization, the concept of hearing written text mentally, which can impede one's reading pace. The informative seminar also discloses methods that, like meditating while chanting every name from grandma's high-school yearbook, can increase concentration and long-term memory skills by up to 95%.
All attendees receive an instructional manual and the institute's own RasterMaster laser pen, a tool designed to expand peripheral vision and bolster at-home speed-reading practice. Geared toward high-school students to help to prepare them for standardized tests and college-placement exams, this course also assists students in improving scores on graduate-level exams such as the LSAT and the GRE.

Sitting for a digital photographer grants you immediate access to images, as opposed to waiting for a painter to outgrow his Cubist phase before you can recognize your own face. Snag convenient family portraits with this Groupon: for $25, you get a portrait package with the sitting fees waived, provided by Lifetouch Portraits and redeemable at any Target Portrait Studio (up to a $124.90 value). The professional photographers at Target Portrait Studios capture paramount moments in premier lighting with high-tech digital cameras and a choice of vivid background images. Clients are welcome to bring props and shadow puppets from home, and after choosing a background, they can further customize each image with one of the studio's props, if desired.
After the last flash sparks, a member of the studio team helps freshly immortalized subjects peruse the session's digital daguerreotypes. Pose strikers select favorite images that then emerge from digital cocoons into beautiful print butterflies up to 10"x13" in size. Customers may take 40% off additional purchases of portrait sheets, collages, posters, or enlargements made that day. The discount cannot be applied toward reorders, studio events, media, services, featured products, or online orders. Prior to sessions, Target Portrait Studio offers up a host of helpful advice for getting the most out of your photography sessions, such as clothing suggestions, color coordination, and how much to tip light bulbs.

Live theater tends to be more thrilling than film, largely due to the heightened odds of seeing someone flub a line or deliver a stirring monologue while sitting in your lap. Witness truly dramatic close-ups with this GrouponLive deal to Stripped the Play at Culture Club. Performances are held at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from May 25 to June 23. Doors open at 7 p.m. Choose between the following options:
For $25, you get one general-admission ticket to any performance (a $50 value). For $250, you get a VIP party package for six at any performance (a $500 value). The party package includes the following: Reserved seating on front-row couches One bottle of champagne A photo with the cast
Though they seem to bare it all on stage, the boys of Stripped mask tenderness beneath their ripped, rugged, ultra-macho personas. In a meta-theatrical take on the classic male revue, the script's winking ribaldries and secret angst blend serious theater with a bachelorette-ready good time. This run of the show sees writer, director, and actor Geoffrey Cantor return to the stage for the first time in nine years as Steve Savage, the troubled troupe's fun-loving ringleader and MC. Between all-out in-character performances, the soulful strippers struggle with crises of identity, love, and age, just like any more-clothed member of society.
Culture Club ensures that the party onstage segues seamlessly into a well-rounded night on the town. '80s kitsch flashes throughout the sprawling dance club in the form of light-up floors, giant Pac-Men tragically just out of reach of the ceiling's delicious disco balls, and giant posters for Back to the Future and The Breakfast Club.

The rest of the services are more familiar-deep-tissue massage, waxing, and a lineup of eight facials. The attention to detail that allows aestheticians to customize each of these facials to the client's skin type extends to the spa itself; when not being used for a service or as a practice surfboard, treatment tables are decorated with a pyramid of rolled towels topped with a flower.

Island PaintballHigh-school social studies teacher Anthony Pennino Sr. played his first round of paintball in 1985. By the following year Tony had gathered 20-30 friends and kin for paintball bouts on his family's private land. As demand for paintball guns and safety gear grew among his brigade of marksmen, he converted his basement into a makeshift store, supplying paintball accouterments from home until moving into a storefront in 1990. Within two decades Tony and his clan formed the lauded paintball team the New York Dogs, opened their own indoor arena, and eventually combined that arena with their largest store yet.
That facility forms the backbone of Island Paintball, where two sports turf fields host Model 98-brandishing players. In between games, players can watch other contests from behind the staging area's plexiglass viewing windows or browse Island Paintball Supplies' gun wall and 12 massive showcases of paintball gear. An in-house gunsmith repairs any malfunctioning guns, which patrons can wield at open-play sessions, private parties, or on the targets strung up in the booths of Island Paintball's mobile target trailer.

"There is this amazing energy out on the water; you get a chance to ride Mother Nature. It doesn't cost anything, and there is always a freshness to it." When Global Boarding's founder Robb Reid describes his profession, it's hard to believe he has been at it for more than a quarter of a century. Mr. Reid remains as passionate as when he first discovered surfing as a young boy. "It has always brought me happiness," he says.
As a professional wakeboarder and coach, Mr. Reid's dedication took him across the globe. He traveled to the beaches of Central America and learned to do everything upside down in Australia. Despite each country's beauty, it wasn't until Mr. Reid and his wife found the clear waters and nature preserves of Sag Harbor that they knew they had found what they were looking for: a home. In 2001, Global Boarding was born.
Along with a team of ARC-certified professionals, Mr. Reid keeps his clients from surfing in the bathtub May through September of each year. Their fleet of boats can pull water gear such as tubes, wakeboards, and water skis. In Global Boarding's kids' surf program, Mr. Reid uses wake surfing as a transitional tool to teach new surfers how to find balance atop the ocean's natural playgrounds.

Jersey SmilesThough he seems quite at home among the advanced tools at his Jersey Smiles dental office, Dr. Shankar Iyer is no stranger to the world outside. The jet-setting dentist has made a name for himself as an international speaker, having lectured on subjects such as implant and prosthetic dentistry across Europe, South America, and Asia.
When he isn't publishing peer-reviewed articles or patiently autographing tooth fairies' prized collections, Dr. Iyer joins Drs. Preeti Iyer and Devika Bhola-as well as a dedicated staff of dental assistants-at his offices in Elizabeth and Jersey City. Together, the three dentists clean and correct smiles with treatments that encompass the many subsets of their field, from dental implants to prosthodontics and smile design. Their collective expertise has not gone unnoticed by former and current patients, many of whom will testify to the staff's "professionalism and humane attitude" in devising gentle treatments to correct chipped teeth, brighten stained enamel, and silence the trills of swallowed harmonicas.

Keep your cuteness young, fresh, and wrinkle-free with 20 units of Botox® at Ageonics Medical for only $149 or 40 units for $275. This quick, ultra-popular procedure feels like no more than a little pinch; the results, however, are amazing. Get back that younger-looking you by reducing the appearance of crow's feet, frown and worry lines, drooping brow, and other common wrinkle spots. Don't worry; mom still thinks you're beautiful.
